My girlfriend insists on 'translating' my order for me at restaurants.

We'll go out to eat and I'll say what I want, like 'I'll have the number 5'. Then she'll immediately turn to the server and say 'He wants the spicy chicken sandwich.' I'm a grown adult, I can order for myself.

It's not every single time, but it's often enough that it's starting to really get under my skin. She doesn't do it to be mean, I think in her head she thinks she's being helpful or clarifying. But it just comes off as so condescending. The server and I both heard what I said. It's not like I'm mumbling. I feel like a little kid who needs his mom to order for him. It's embarrassing.
