I'm not making this up. My boyfriend got a new job that requires him to be clean-shaven. He's had this beard for as long as I've known him, and he's acting like he's losing a limb. At first it was funny, he was being all dramatic like 'it's the end of an era.' But now it's gotten out of hand. He's planning a whole 'funeral' for it this weekend. He invited three of his buddies over to 'pay their respects' before he shaves it off. He wants me to make snacks, like real funeral food. He sent me a list: pigs in a blanket, little sandwiches, maybe a sad-looking dip. I laughed, but he's dead serious. they says it's a major life event and we need to give the beard a proper send-off. I told him he's nuts and that I'm not running a catering service for his facial hair. Now he's moping around saying I don't support him in his time of grief. It's a beard. A BEARD.
