My boyfriend and I cannot agree on the basic rules of leftovers.

He thinks anything in a Tupperware in the fridge is a free-for-all. I believe if it's the *last* portion of something you didn't pay for or cook, you have to ask before eating it.

Last night, I was looking forward to finishing the amazing pasta I brought home from a nice dinner out. I get home from work and he's eating it right out of the container for a snack. His logic is that once food becomes 'leftovers,' it enters the public domain of the household fridge. My logic is that I paid $28 for that pasta, and I was specifically saving it for my lunch today. they says I should've 'claimed it' by writing my name on it, which feels insane. We're not in a college dorm. I think it's a respect thing, he thinks I'm being weird about food. What's the verdict?
