I used my emergency 'get out of one argument free' card on a debate about hot dogs.
By @paigehm · Relationships
My girlfriend and I have a running joke where we each get ONE card per year to instantly win any argument, no questions asked. I just burned mine to prove that a hot dog is not a sandwich.
The full story
The rule is you can only use the card if you genuinely believe you're right and the other person is being completely irrational. We were cooking out with friends and she said 'pass me a hot dog sandwich.' I said it's not a sandwich, it's just a hot dog. It got surprisingly heated, and she wouldn't back down. I felt my honor was on the line. So I played the card. Now she's salty and says I wasted it on something stupid, and that I'm going to regret it when a real argument comes up. I think upholding a fundamental food truth was worth it.

@wesish — What are the exact rules for what constitutes a 'sandwich' in this household?
@hannahb — My bf and I did this and he used his to make me admit that Nickelback is a good band. We don't do it anymore.
@welpok — LMAO
@reeseyk — Sometimes you just have to stand for what you believe in! I think it's sweet that this is the biggest thing you two have to argue about.
@codywelp — absolutely not cooked this is a legendary move
