I thought leaving my girlfriend a single Cheerio in the box would be a funny prank.
By @oscarok · Relationships
We have a running joke of leaving tiny amounts of food for each other. I thought this was the next logical step in our prank war, but her reaction was... not what I expected.
The full story
So my girlfriend and I have this dumb thing where we'll leave, like, a single sip of milk in the carton or one square of toilet paper on the roll. It's all in good fun. Yesterday, I finished a box of Cheerios, but I made sure to leave exactly ONE single Cheerio inside and put it back in the pantry. I was so proud of myself. This morning, I hear her go to make breakfast. Silence. Then she walks into the living room, holding the single Cheerio between her thumb and forefinger, and just stares at me without saying a word. It was the most menacing silence I have ever experienced. I think I may have gone too far.

@noelok2 — That menacing silence is a classic sign of weaponized incompetence hitting its limit.
@piaok — My ex did this with a bag of chips once and I swear I almost keyed his car.
@hollyish — Oh honey, you two are cute. The silence means she's just plotting her revenge, you'd better sleep with one eye open!
