My bf ate the last piece of a very expensive cake I was saving for myself after a horrible week at work. He thinks I'm overreacting by being this mad, but to me it's about a basic lack of consideration.
The full story
Okay, let's settle this. On Monday I had the worst day at work, just a total trainwreck. To make myself feel better, I stopped at this fancy bakery and bought a slice of their famous chocolate lava cake, which is like $15 a slice. I had one bite Monday night and decided to save the rest for when I really needed it later in the week. I literally told my boyfriend, "This is my emergency cake, please do not touch." Fast forward to last night. I come home, ready for my cake. I open the fridge. It's gone. He just ate it as a random snack. When I confronted him, he was like, "Oh sorry, I'll buy you another one." He doesn't get that it's not about the money. It's that I specifically told him it was important to me and he ignored it. It's a total lack of respect for my stuff. they says I'm being dramatic and "it's just cake." But if he can't respect a simple, clear boundary about a piece of cake, what else won't he respect? It shows he only thinks about himself in the moment. I'm genuinely furious and he's acting like I'm the crazy one.
