Adults who still ask for 'no pickles' or 'no onions' on their food need to grow up.

Unless you have a legitimate allergy, picking apart your food order as an adult is just embarrassing. It's time we all learned to eat a damn pickle.

I'm just going to say it: custom-ordering your food to remove standard, harmless ingredients is a sign of a weak palate and an even weaker will. I was out with a coworker last night, a grown man in his 30s. He orders a burger and then gives the waiter this whole speech: 'No pickles, no onions, light on the sauce, can you make sure the lettuce isn't touching the tomato...' I was sinking in my seat. It held up the line and was just plain awkward. What are you, five? Are your taste buds so uniquely sensitive that the presence of a single, slivered onion will send you into a culinary crisis? It's a burger, not a delicate soufflé. The ingredients are on there because they complement each other. By picking them all off, you're not 'curating your experience,' you're just ordering a bland meat circle on bread. It screams 'I still eat like a toddler.' There's a huge difference between a life-threatening allergy and just being a picky eater who never evolved past chicken nuggets. Eat the pickle. Scrape off the onion yourself if you're that terrified. Or just order something else. Stop making your infantile food preferences everyone else's problem.
