Our fantasy league just voted to make the 'loser tattoo' an actual multi-year punishment.

I'm the commissioner of a pretty serious 12-man fantasy football league. This year, someone proposed that instead of a one-and-done joke punishment, the loser should have to get a tattoo designed by the winner, and KEEP it until they win the league themselves.

so this is a league with friends from college, we're all in our late 20s now and have been doing this for like 8 years. the punishments have escalated from silly (singing in public) to annoying (24-hour waffle house challenge). this year one of the guys who fancies himself a 'thought leader' lol, proposed a new rule: the loser gets a tattoo. not a temp one. the design is chosen by the league winner. it has to be small (like 2x2 inches) and can't be anything actually hateful/profane, but it can be extremely embarrassing. think like... a portrait of the winner's face, or the logo of their most hated rival team. here's the kicker: the loser has to keep the tattoo until they WIN the championship. only then can they get it removed or covered up. if they never win? it's there forever. the league is super competitive. only 4 of the 12 guys have ever won. some guys have literally never even made the playoffs. i thought this was a joke at first but it went to a league vote and passed 7-5. as the commissioner, i was one of the 5 'no' votes. i think this is way too far and genuinely has the potential to create real-world bad blood between people. it stops being a game and becomes a permanent brand of shame. the guys who voted for it are all calling the 'no' voters soft and saying we're 'ruining the fun'. i feel like im taking crazy pills, this is not fun, it's a public health crisis lmao. now i'm being pressured to ratify it into the official league bylaws and i just feel like it's a massive mistake that's going to ruin friendships over a stupid game.
