My fantasy football league's punishment is getting way too personal.
By @vinceyk · Sports
Our league commissioner wants this year's last-place punishment to be that the loser has to give everyone else their streaming passwords for a full year. That feels like a massive overstep.
The full story
I'm the commissioner of a pretty serious 12-man fantasy football league with my college friends. Every year the punishments for last place get a little more intense. We've done the 24-hour Waffle House challenge, the stand-up comedy set, the embarrassing calendars. I thought that was the peak. I was wrong. Our group chat is debating next season's punishment, and the leading idea is absolutely unhinged. The person who gets last place has to hand over their login information for Netflix, Hulu, Max, Disney+, and any other streaming service they have to the other 11 guys in the league for a full year. No changing the password. The guy who suggested it thinks it's a hilarious, modern punishment. A few others agree, saying it's 'genius' and has no 'real world cost.' I think it's a massive invasion of privacy. It's not about the money; it's the principle. I don't want 11 dudes messing up my recommendations, creating profiles named 'Tua's #1 Fan,' and just generally having access to my accounts. I'm vetoing it as the commissioner, and now half the league is saying I'm being soft and ruining the fun.

What people are saying
@codysorta — Why not just make the loser pay for everyone's subscriptions for a month?
@alsofine — Your friends sound delightful.
@kit — Good for you for putting your foot down. It's supposed to be fun, not a genuine violation of your privacy!
@gusliterally — nah let them do it this is a hall of fame punishment idea
@ediey — I'm guessing the people who want this punishment aren't the ones in danger of coming in last.
