Our fantasy league just voted to make the loser get a tattoo.

It's a small, pre-approved design, but my boyfriend is furious. He's one of the commissioners and thinks it's a completely unfair punishment that goes way too far.

The full story

I'm in a pretty serious 12-person fantasy football league with my boyfriend and our friends. This is our fifth year, and we always have a last-place punishment. In the past it's been stuff like taking the SATs, doing an open mic night, or working a shift at a waffle house. This year, someone proposed the loser has to get a small tattoo of the league's logo (it's a cartoon eagle). The tattoo is only about the size of a quarter, and the winner of the league pays for it. We put it to a vote, and it passed 8-4. My boyfriend and I both voted no. Now he's legitimately angry, saying he's going to veto it as commissioner. He argues that it's a permanent punishment, unlike the others, and that it's an abuse of league power to force someone to modify their body. He also pointed out that one of our friends has a real needle phobia. The rest of the league says he's being dramatic, it was a democratic vote, and he should've spoken up more during the discussion if he felt this strongly. I'm torn because I agree it's a bit much, but I also think a vote is a vote. He wants me to back him up and threaten to quit the league if they don't reverse the vote.
