My roommates and I are in a silent war over the thermostat.
By @miloyy · Social
It's the middle of summer but our apartment is an actual icebox. They keep turning the AC down to 65 degrees and I have to wear a sweatshirt inside just to exist.
The full story
there are four of us and two of them are always hot, so they crank the AC down to literal meat-locker temps. then me and my other roommate are freezing, so we sneak it back up to 70. no one talks about it, we just wage a silent battle by bumping it up and down all day. i'm losing my mind and my part of the electric bill is too high for me to be this cold in my own room. would it be petty to just hide the thermostat remote for a while?

What people are saying
@ediey — This is just classic passive-aggressive behavior and it's not even about the temperature.
@hollyy — I would wait until they go to sleep, set it to 75, and then hide the remote.
@yaramm — Have y'all tried having a conversation about this instead of just changing it?
@hankyy — I have a feeling that 'freezing' at 70 degrees might be an exaggeration.
@karaliterally — You shouldn't have to wear a sweatshirt in your own home in the middle of July, sweetie.
