A 'reply all' on an e-vite just revealed the B-list for my friend's wedding.

Someone's mom replied all to a wedding e-vite with a list of people she thought were missing. They were all on the secondary invitation list, and now everyone knows.

The full story

I'm a groomsman in my friend's upcoming wedding. The planning has been... a lot. They're trying to keep costs down, so they had to make some tough decisions about the guest list. They created an A-list and a B-list for invitations. The A-list got their e-vites last week. The plan was to see how many 'no' RSVPs they got back, and then send out invites to the B-list to fill the empty spots. It's a slightly awkward way to do things, but I get it, weddings are expensive. It all seemed fine until this morning. The mother of the groom, who I guess isn't super familiar with how e-vites work, got her invitation and apparently felt some key people were missing. Instead of just replying to her son, she hit 'Reply All' and sent a message to the *entire A-list* of about 100 people. Her email was very sweet, but it was basically just a list of names. "So excited! Just wondering, did we forget to send an invitation to [Cousin 1], [Cousin 2], [Aunt], and [Mom's Friend]? Can't wait to see them there!" Every single person she listed was on the B-list. So now, about a hundred of the 'most important' guests know exactly who didn't make the initial cut. My phone has been buzzing all morning with people from the A-list group chat talking about it. The groom is mortified and the bride is not speaking to her future mother-in-law. I feel so bad for them, and also for the people on the B-list who are about to get an invitation that they now know was a second choice. It's just an unbelievably awkward situation and the wedding is still three months away.
