My roommate's boyfriend ate my expensive 'do not touch' ice cream and now i'm seeing red.

By @remy · Drama

This man does not live here, does not pay rent, and does not contribute to groceries. He has now escalated from eating the communal tortilla chips to my personal, top-shelf, emergency-only snacks.

The full story

so let me set the scene. my roommate's bf is here basically 24/7. at first it was fine but he's gotten way too comfortable. he's a grazer. he just wanders into the kitchen and eats things. i let the little things slide, like when he finished off my bread or used the last of the milk. i can live with that. but i have a system. i have my cheap, everyday snacks, and then i have my 'struggle meals,' my 'i got a promotion' treats, my 'just got dumped' comfort food. this includes a very specific brand of ridiculously expensive sea salt caramel gelato. it is my baby. it lives in the back of the freezer with a post-it note that literally says 'please do not eat, this is for emotional emergencies.' yesterday was a bad day at work, and i came home dreaming of my gelato. i open the freezer... and it's gone. just the empty pint sitting in the front, like a tiny monument to his audacity. i asked my roommate and she was like 'oh yeah i think he finished that last night lol.' am i crazy or is this a massive red flag? i feel like it's not even about the ice cream anymore. it's the principle. am i cooked for wanting to stage an intervention over a pint of gelato?
