My roommate and I are in a silent war over our apartment's smart speaker.

It started as a joke, but now we're using our a place nearby Home to sabotage each other's lives in small, petty ways. I need a way to de-escalate this situation without officially losing.

The full story

We got a smart speaker for the living room about a month ago. At first, it was fun. Then one day as a joke, my roommate started playing terrible music on it while I had a friend over. Game on. The next morning, I set a 4 AM alarm on it for him, with the alarm sound as a screaming goat. Since then, it has become a battle of wits. He's changed the speaker's name to 'Master of the Universe' so only he remembers what to call it. I figured it out and changed the default language to Korean, which he doesn't speak. He's created a routine so that anytime I say 'Hey a place nearby, good morning,' it turns on all the lights and starts playing death metal. My retaliation was to link his Spotify account and create a playlist called 'Toddler Tunes' that I put on shuffle whenever he's in the living room. It's funny, but it's also getting exhausting having to constantly check the device's settings. I'm at the point where I just want to use it to check the weather without having it announce a bizarre 'fact' I programmed about my roommate. How do I call a truce without seeming like I'm surrendering?
