I leave at 6am. He's always out there and gives a huge wave and a 'good morning!' and I'm just not a morning person. My wife says I'm being rude now.

I work construction, so my days start early. I'm in my truck by 6 AM. My neighbor, a retired guy, is always out there puttering in his yard. He’s a nice enough guy, but the super cheerful, two-handed wave every single day is a lot. I'm barely awake. I've switched to just doing a little head nod to acknowledge him. Now my wife tells me his wife asked her if everything was 'alright' with me because I seem 'grumpy'. I'm not grumpy, I just want my coffee. My wife thinks I'm being rude, but I think it's weird to need so much acknowledgment that early.
