My mother-in-law rearranged our entire kitchen while we were gone for the weekend.

We came back from a two-day trip to find she'd 'organized' everything. My husband thinks it's a sweet gesture and I should thank her, but I feel like my space was invaded and I can't find anything.
The full story
My mother-in-law is generally a very kind person, but sometimes her 'helpfulness' crosses a line for me. This past weekend, my husband and I went on a short anniversary trip, just two nights away. they asked her to house-sit and watch our dog, which she was happy to do. We left her a list of instructions for the dog, emergency numbers, etc., and that was it. Well, we came back Sunday night, and she was beaming. they told us she had a 'surprise' for us. I walked into the kitchen and my jaw just dropped. She had completely reorganized everything. The pantry was 'optimized' with all the labels facing out, the drawers were redone with new organizers, and she even moved all my spices from the rack next to the stove into a drawer across the room because she read online it keeps them 'fresher.' I just stood there, speechless. It's not that it looks bad, it's just that it's not *my* system. I knew where everything was. Now, I feel like I'm in a stranger's kitchen. It took me ten minutes to find the coffee filters this morning. I tried to gently tell my husband that I was a little overwhelmed by it, and he got defensive. they said his mom spent her entire weekend working hard just to do something nice for us, and that I'm being ungrateful. He thinks I should give her a huge thank you and just get used to the new layout. I feel like she massively overstepped. It's my kitchen, and I should be able to decide how it's organized without having to hunt for my own colander. Now I'm dreading her next visit.
