I lied about a food allergy to get out of eating my mother-in-law's cooking.
By @ugfine · Family
My MIL is an objectively bad cook. I told a white lie to get out of eating her food and now it's a whole thing.
The full story
My partner's mom is a sweetheart but she cannot cook. Everything is bland, overcooked, and just... sad. I've choked it down for years. Last month, I told her I developed an 'intolerance' to onions, which she puts in EVERYTHING. My plan worked, she made me a separate bland meal. But now she tells everyone about my 'terrible allergy' and is trying to find me 'specialists'. My partner thinks it's funny but also says I created a monster. Annnyway, there's my drama for the week lol.
