I have a strict no-shoes rule in my house. I just like to keep the floors clean. my own parents have no problem with it, but my partner's parents act like ive asked them to sacrifice their firstborn. My father-in-law huffs and puffs every time. Last night he walked right in with his dirty boots on. I said 'hey, could you please take your shoes off?'. he said 'i'm not staying long'. I said 'the rule is for everyone'. my partner thinks i should just let it go for them. leaving it up to yall.
