so we have a standing brunch thing and a few people have been bailing last minute. one person got annoyed and sent a $15 venmo request to someone for the 'emotional damage' of them not showing up. now everyone is doing it.

it started as a joke i think. someone in our gc flaked on our weekly brunch plans like an hour before we were supposed to meet. the friend who picked the place and made the reservation got annoyed and sent them a venmo request for $15 for 'wasted time and energy.' the person who flaked actually paid it, and now it's become a Thing. if you cancel within 24 hours you owe the group chat $15. i think it's kinda funny but also absolutely unhinged behavior.
