My father-in-law keeps changing the commentary on the World Cup games in my own house.

He's staying with us for the summer and says he can't understand the British announcers. I told him that's the whole point, but every time I leave the room he switches it to the American broadcast.

The full story

I wait four years for this. I pay for the channel package that gets me the international feeds so I don't have to listen to the awful American commentators who don't know what they're talking about. It’s the only way to watch it right. My wife's dad is staying with us for a couple months. He comes in, sits in my chair, and complains the whole time. they says he can't understand the accents. Says they talk too fast. The other day I got up to grab a couple of beers from the fridge. I come back and I hear the American guys shouting. He just picked up the remote and changed the audio language. Didn't even ask. I switched it back and he got all huffy. My wife tells me to just let it go and let him watch the way he wants. Says I'm being a bad host. I say he's a guest, but I live here. It's my living room and my TV. It's not about the commentary anymore, it's about respect. He's here till August. This is going to be a long tournament.
