My fantasy league is arguing about whether a 'mercy rule' is fair or just soft.

One manager in my 12-team fantasy baseball league is getting destroyed every week and wants to add a rule to end matchups early if they're a blowout. I think he just needs to take the L.

Our fantasy baseball league has a $100 buy-in and has been running for years. This season, one guy's team is just historically bad. He's proposing we add a 'mercy rule' where the matchup is called if he's down by more than 40% by Friday. they says it's demoralizing to watch the score pile on all weekend. I say that's part of the game! You draft your team, you manage it, and you deal with the results. We don't need participation trophies. It's supposed to be competitive, and sometimes that means you get crushed. The commish is putting it to a vote, and I'm hard no.
