My fantasy league cannot agree on whether our 'stupidity tax' is getting out of hand.
By @paigey · Sports
Our commish started a rule where you have to put $5 in a pot for objectively dumb moves. It was supposed to be a joke, but now people are lawyering up over what counts as 'dumb'.
The full story
We have this thing in our fantasy baseball league called the 'Taco Tax.' Basically, if you make a truly boneheaded move—like starting a pitcher who's on the IL, or dropping a top-tier player for no reason—you have to put $5 in the pot. The winner of the league gets the pot at the end of the year. It was hilarious for the first month. But now the pot is over $150 and people are getting SERIOUS. Someone tried to argue that starting a player during a game that got rained out shouldn't count. The commish is getting stressed because every single tax is now a half-hour debate. Is it petty to want to abolish the tax? It's literally ruining the fun.
