My boyfriend says if I didn't pay for the food, I don't get a say in who eats it.

By @jettkay · Relationships

He ordered a pizza for himself last night and I had a couple slices. Today my friend came over and I offered her a slice, and my bf got mad because he paid for it, so it's 'his' food to share or not share.

The full story

This feels dumb but it's the principle. He bought a large pizza for himself. I ate two slices. Fine. The next day, my best friend is over and I offer her one of the leftover slices from the fridge. He pulls me aside and says I shouldn't have done that because it's his pizza. His logic: he paid, so I'm already a guest eating the pizza, and a guest can't invite other guests. I told him that's ridiculous. We live together. It's a pizza in our shared fridge. It's not some expensive steak. It's leftover pizza. they says it's not about the money, it's about the principle that the person who pays gets to decide. I said once the food enters our shared home, it's kinda communal unless it's something special we talked about. Now he's acting like I betrayed him over a piece of pepperoni. I think he's being cheap and weird. He thinks I'm disrespectful of his property.
