My boyfriend keeps adding his workout music to our shared 'chill' playlist.

We created a specific Spotify playlist for quiet evenings and focus. they says 'a good song is a good song,' but his high-energy gym tracks are ruining the whole vibe and I don't know how to bring it up again without seeming controlling.

The full story

I am sensitive to my environment, especially sounds, and I really curate the audio vibe of our apartment. A few months ago, my boyfriend (28M) and I (27F) made a collaborative Spotify playlist with the very clear title 'Chill Background Noise.' It was supposed to be for lofi, ambient, acoustic stuff—things we could put on while working from home or relaxing. Lately, he's been peppering it with songs from his 'BEAST MODE' gym playlist. So in between some quiet folk music and a calm piano piece, a really aggressive trap song with a crazy bass drop will suddenly blast through the speakers. It's super jarring and completely wrecks my focus or whatever calm mood I was in. I've tried hinting. I'll skip the song immediately. I once said, 'oh, this one's a bit energetic for the chill list, huh?' He just laughed it off and said he was 'expanding our musical horizons.' It feels like he's just not listening. I started quietly going in and removing his songs, but then a few days later, three new gym anthems will appear. It's this silent, petty playlist war. I feel like he's disrespecting the whole point, but maybe I'm just being too rigid.
