every morning i get a jolt of secondhand trauma when i hear it through the wall. it’s like a pavlovian response now. great song, completely ruined forever because he needs it to violently rip him from his slumber. i told him he’s basically punishing the artist (and me) and he said it's 'motivation' to listen to music he likes. that makes zero sense. you don't use your favorite food as a punishment. you don't wear your favorite shirt to do yard work. it's just basic respect for the art.
