I used my emergency Narcan on a guy who was just really sleepy at a music festival.

I was at a festival last weekend and saw a guy slumped against a fence, not moving. Everyone was just walking by, so my heroic self sprinted over, assumed the worst, and hit him with the nasal spray I carry for emergencies.

so yeah this is my life now. i carry narcan just in case, trying to be a responsible person. i was at this outdoor festival, it's hot, everyone is vibing, and i see this dude completely zoned out, leaning against a barrier, head lolling. my brain goes straight to worst-case-scenario. nobody is helping him. so i run over, yelling "i've got narcan!" like i'm in a movie. i don't even really check on him, i just get the spray out, stick it up his nose, and push the plunger. he jolts awake, absolutely terrified, and starts yelling "what the hell man?!" turns out he's a dad of a newborn and this was his first day off in months. he was just taking a nap between sets because he'd been up for 48 hours straight with the baby. he was stone-cold sober. he was understandably pissed that i'd assaulted him with life-saving medication. his friends were laughing, a crowd had formed, and i just wanted to evaporate. i apologized profusely and bought him a $20 lemonade to say sorry but he just glared at me. i feel like i did the wrong thing for the right reasons? idk.
