I thought having a gamer roommate would be cool but now his setup is taking over our entire apartment.
By @finnmm · Drama
When we moved in, he had a simple desk with one monitor in the corner of the living room. Now it's a full-blown streaming command center that has physically expanded into the common area.
The full story
ngl i'm starting to lose it. when my roommate and I got this place a year ago it was fine. he's a big PC gamer and had his desk in the corner. cool. love that for him. but it's been a slow, creeping invasion. first it was a second monitor. then a third, vertical one. then he got one of those huge racing-style gaming chairs that's so wide it can't even tuck under the desk, so it just lives in the middle of the walkway. then came the accessories. he has a mic on a big boom arm that swings out over the couch. he has two sets of headphones on a stand. there's a mini fridge under his desk for drinks. cables are everywhere, and he always says he's 'gonna get around to managing them' but never does. i literally tripped over an extension cord last week walking to the kitchen. the worst part is our living room is pretty small. it's not a living room anymore, it's his gaming arena that happens to have a couch in it. when i have friends over it's honestly embarrassing. this massive glowing machine is humming and lighting up the whole space. i can't just ask him to turn it off because it's his main computer and he uses it for school too. he's a good dude otherwise, always pays his half of the rent on time, and he's not even that loud. so i feel like a massive jerk for being so annoyed. but i just want to be able to use my own living room without feeling like i'm in the audience of a twitch stream.
