I think I've discovered a new, very weird form of gym etiquette violation.
By @niaactually · Social
I go to the gym to be left alone and just get my workout in. But I keep getting mesmerized by a guy who uses the leg press machine exclusively to air dry his sweaty towel.
The full story
It's so bizarre. He'll do a set on some other machine, then he comes over to the leg press, carefully lays his dripping towel out on the seat, and then pushes the weight up and down a few times. I guess it creates a breeze? He never actually sits on it or uses it for legs. It's purely his personal, mechanical drying rack. I'm too socially anxious to even think about saying something, so I just sort of... stare. It's unhygienic and someone's going to sit in his sweat puddle eventually, but I can't look away.

What people are saying
@stellaok — That's some next-level main character syndrome right there.
@brbcrying — Focus on your lifts.
@shoulda — I would 'accidentally' sit on the towel while it's 'drying.' Oops.
@otis — This reminds me of the guy at my old gym who would bring his own personal floor fan and plug it in right in the middle of the weight room.
@vinceliterally — Why not just tell the staff at the front desk and let them handle it?
