A guy at the gym interrupted my set to explain how the machine works.

I've been using the same leg press for three years. He came over and told me I should 'start lighter' because I was probably new. I didn't know what to say.

The full story

I go to the gym at the same time a few days a week. I was on the leg press machine, headphones in, minding my own business. This guy comes over and taps my shoulder until I take my headphones out. He points at the weight and says something like, 'Hey, you should probably start a lot lighter if you're new to this machine.' I just stared at him. I'm not new. I've been on a consistent program for years. I didn't say anything, I just gave him a blank look for a few seconds until he got uncomfortable and walked away. I felt like correcting him was just inviting a longer conversation, but now I feel a little bad. And annoyed.
