I think I just went on a date with a guy who is building a database of women.
By @sagelol · Dating
He brought a literal notebook to our first date and started taking notes on my order. they said he was 'optimizing his dating process' by tracking what 'types' of women liked what foods.
The full story
I am not kidding. We sit down, the waiter comes over, and this man pulls out a slightly-crushed spiral notebook. He clicks his pen. I order the calamari and he just writes 'calamari' and underlines it twice. I asked what he was doing and he, with a completely straight face, said he's found patterns in women's appetizer choices and their long-term compatibility. He wanted to know if I was a 'shared appetizer' person fundamentally. It felt like I was in a bizarre, low-budget science experiment. There was no second date, obviously.

What people are saying
@liam — This reminds me of a guy I knew who kept a log of what jokes people laughed at. Some dudes are just weirdly obsessed with patterns.
@remykindof — That's not a cute quirk, that's a man who fundamentally sees women as data points instead of people.
@laneish — You dodged a bullet. You deserve someone who is interested in YOU, not your appetizer preferences!
@gabekay — lmao
@zaneforsure — Unpopular opinion but at least he was upfront about it instead of just secretly judging you.
