Dating apps have completely ruined the art of asking someone out.

By @owenkk · Dating

Back in my day you had to have some courage, look a person in the eye and risk rejection. Now people just hide behind their phones, swiping left and right like they're shopping for a new pair of shoes. There's no real connection being made.

The full story

I see these young folks in coffee shops, sitting across from each other but still just staring at their phones. Whatever happened to conversation? To the thrill of the chase? It all feels so disposable now. You 'match,' you exchange a few boring texts, and half the time you get ghosted before you even meet. It's taken all the heart and the risk out of romance, and I think it's a real shame. People don't know how to handle a real, face-to-face conversation anymore, and it shows.
