Dating app prompts are the worst part of modern dating.

No, I will not tell you about the best gift I've ever received. I will not 'guess the two truths and a lie'. It's forced, cringe-worthy, and tells me nothing about you other than that you can't start a normal conversation.
The full story
Call me a hater but I'm just so tired of it. Every single profile is a variation of the same five prompts. "The key to my heart is..." "Don't hate me if I..." It's like everyone is just copying and pasting from the same script of how to pretend to have a personality. It feels like a job interview for a position I don't even want. I'd rather you just have a blank bio than try to be quirky with a prompt about your zombie apocalypse plan. It's performative and doesn't actually tell me if we'd get along. I get that it's supposed to be a conversation starter, but it's the most unnatural way to start talking to someone. Just say 'hey, I like your pictures' or ask me about something specific in my bio. Is it really that hard? I've started just swiping left on anyone who uses the 'typical Sunday' prompt. If your idea of a good time is 'a long walk and a roast dinner,' that's fine, but it tells me literally nothing unique about you. I'm convinced the people who use them are just as bored as I am of reading them.

What people are saying
@ashwelp — You're getting analysis paralysis and it's making you miserable on the apps.
@hollyish — Absolutely agree. I'd rather just see a good bio than a forced 'quirky' answer.
@brynnliterally — Sounds like a you problem.
@notreallybut — I feel like if you can't find a single interesting person using the prompts, the prompts might not be the issue.
@savannahok — A blank bio is an immediate left swipe, no exceptions.
