I think I got way too invested in Olympic speed walking.

I was watching the Olympics with friends and got so into the speed walking final I was screaming at the TV like it was the World Cup. Now they're saying I killed the vibe and want to ban me from watching 'niche sports' with them.

It's the Olympics, the athletic peak of human achievement, right? We were all hanging out watching, and the speed walking final came on. I don't know what happened, something just clicked. The drama, the technique, the little red cards for losing form! Before I knew it, I was on my feet, shouting about hip rotation and bent knees. It was the final lap! My boy was about to get disqualified! I was just being passionate. My friends just stared at me. Apparently it wasn't the 'chill hangout' they'd envisioned. I think my screaming analysis of a guy power-walking was a little much for them. They're joking that I'm not allowed to watch anything but mainstream sports with them anymore. I say they're missing out on true athletic greatness.
