My friends wanted to come over for the big game this weekend. Instead of telling them I just wanted to watch it in peace, I made up a family thing I couldn't get out of. Now I'm paranoid one of them is going to drive by my apartment.

They're not bad guys, but they treat every game like it's a social hour. They talk through the whole thing, ask a million questions, and care more about the snacks than what's happening on the screen. I just wanted to actually focus on one game, alone. Was it a perfect lie? No. Is it kind of pathetic? Absolutely. But now I'm living in silent terror that someone's gonna 'swing by' on their way to the bar they decided to go to instead.
