We cannot agree on a 'family' Spotify account.
By @piakay · Family
My husband wants to upgrade to a family plan to save money, which sounds fine. But he thinks that means we all use one profile, so our listening history and recommendations get mashed together.
The full story
I know it sounds like a small thing, but my Spotify is sacred. It's how I find new music, it's what I listen to when I'm running errands or after the kids are in bed. My husband and I have pretty different tastes (I'm more indie/pop, he's classic rock and podcasts), and our 14-year-old daughter is in her own musical world entirely. My husband's argument is that it's cheaper to have one plan, and one profile is simpler, so we should just deal with it. I tried to explain that a family plan gives everyone their *own* separate account under one bill, so we can all keep our algorithms pure. He thinks I'm being difficult and overdramatic about 'music DNA' or whatever. I feel like if we're going to share it, we should do it the right way so it actually works for everyone, otherwise what's the point? they says I'm making a simple money-saving move into a weird personal problem.
