I had to call the fire department on my neighbors for their 'movie night'.
By @judeyk · Petty or Nah
They have this massive DIY projector screen in their backyard and host these huge movie nights. It's usually fine, but last night was different. They were watching a war movie and the explosions were so loud and the bass was shaking our windows.
The full story
Okay so my neighbors, who are generally nice people, are obsessed with having these huge outdoor movie nights. They set up this giant screen against their garage and have a sound system that honestly sounds better than our local movie theater. We've never had an issue, we actually think it's kinda cool. But last night, it all went sideways. They decided to watch some intense, big-budget war movie. I'm talking helicopters, tanks, and non-stop explosions. It started around 8pm, which was fine, but then 10pm rolled around, then 11pm, and the volume was just... cinematic. Our windows were literally rattling from the bass every time something blew up on screen. My dog was losing his mind, hiding under the bed and shaking. I texted the guy, 'Hey man, could you turn it down a bit? It's pretty late.' No response. Then, the grand finale of the movie starts. It was like a 20-minute sequence of pure chaos. It was so loud and the lights were flashing so much from the screen that I swear, for a second, I thought our neighborhood was under attack. Another neighbor came out on her porch looking panicked. That's when I decided I'd had enough and called the non-emergency line, who I guess decided to send a fire truck over to check it out. They're super mad at me today, but was I wrong?

@ughme — I feel like calling the fire department was a bit of an overreaction when you could have just knocked on their door.
@finnliterally — My new hobby would be mowing the lawn at 8am every single Saturday right outside their bedroom window.
@caleblol — nah this is incredible you should get a bigger sound system for retaliation
