I made up a dumb word on the spot and he asked what it meant. I panicked and gave a definition, and now he uses it all the time. It's a whole thing.
The full story
I was at my girlfriend's parents' house for dinner. Their cat was doing this weird, clumsy run and I mumbled to myself that he looked 'glonky.' Her dad overheard and seriously asked, 'what does glonky mean?' Instead of saying 'nothing, I'm just an idiot,' my brain crashed and I told him it meant 'clumsy in a charming way.' Now he says it. He dropped his fork and said 'oops, feeling glonky today.' My girlfriend thinks it's the funniest thing on earth, but I'm trapped in this very low-stakes, very stupid lie. Every time he says it I feel a cold sweat.
