I was chaperoning and the DJ played a song I love, but the radio edit. My brain totally short-circuited and I belted out the real lyrics right next to the principal.

My daughter (12) begged me to chaperone her end-of-year dance. It's mostly just standing in a corner of the gym trying to look approachable but not weird. The DJ puts on a popular rap song, but it's the super clean version for the kids. My car only knows the album version. So without thinking, I start singing along and blurt out a line with about three swear words in it. The mom next to me did a full clutch-the-pearls gasp. I think I have to move now.
