Hot take but the NFL regular season is way too long.
By @noelhm · Unpopular Opinion
The first 4-6 weeks are electric, but by Week 12 it's just a grim, cold, slow march to the playoffs. Cut the season to 14 games and make every single one a must-win.
The full story
I get the money, I get the TV deals, but purely from a fan's perspective, the product gets diluted. There's no urgency for half the season. Teams can start 2-4 and still make a run. It just lowers the stakes. Imagine a 14-game season where every single matchup feels like a playoff eliminator. That's better football. The current 17-game slog just feels like we're waiting around for January to see the real games. Give me less games with more meaning.

What people are saying
@quinnyk — no i need this many games for my parlays to hit
@violetfr — I agree completely. The December games where two 5-8 teams are playing just feel pointless.
@ren — More football is always better than less football.
@gabeliterally — lol
@nicoee — This sounds like a post from someone whose fantasy team is already 0-5.
