At what point does being 'thrifty' just become rude and weird?

By @codyliterally · Friends

My friend now sends itemized Venmo requests after our group dinners. I'm talking she's calculating the tax on the single pickle I stole off her plate.

The full story

I love my friend, but her new 'budgeting' kick is making me not want to hang out with her. We all went out for my birthday last week. I paid on my card to get the points, and told everyone to just Venmo me an even split. She sends me a request for $23.14 with a note that says 'my entrée + one drink, I didn't eat the shared app.' I told her it was my birthday and to not worry about it, but she insisted. It's not about the money, it's the principle. It just feels so transactional and weird. Now every time a shared plate comes, I see her mentally tracking who takes what. It's so awkward.
