My neighbor parks his truck so you can’t see pulling out of the driveway.
By @paigetbh · Who's in the Wrong
Every day I have to inch my car out into the road blind because his huge truck is right on the edge of my property line. I've asked him to move it back a few feet, but he says it's a public street and he can park where he wants.
The full story
Look, I'm not trying to start a war with the guy. He's lived next door for years, we're not friends but we're not enemies. But about six months ago he got this new Ford F-250, the thing is massive. And he parks it on the street right at the edge of his lawn, which is right where my driveway ends. So when I leave for work in the morning at 5am, I can't see the traffic coming from the left at all. The road has a slight curve and people go a little too fast. I have to slowly creep my car out into the lane, basically blind, and just pray nobody is flying around the corner. I've had a few close calls. I went over last week and asked him, politely, if he could just park it maybe ten feet back, closer to the middle of his own house, so it's not creating a blind spot. He got all defensive. Said it's a public street, it's his property, and he's not breaking any laws. Which, fine, he's probably right. But it feels like a common courtesy thing. It would cost him nothing and would make my life a lot safer. Now it's just awkward. I see the truck there every morning and it just ticks me off. I don't know if I should push it, call the town, or just buy a bunch of those little convex mirrors.
