A guy at my gym asked for a spot and then tried to coach my form.

By @judewelp · Social

I was in the middle of a set and this random dude asks me for a spot on his bench press, which is fine. But after his set, he comes over to my rack and starts giving me unsolicited advice on my squat depth. I didn't ask and my form is fine.

The full story

I've been lifting for years, I know what I'm doing. It wasn't like I was about to injure myself. He was saying I wasn't hitting parallel, but he was watching from a weird angle. I just said 'thanks man, I'm good' and put my headphones back on, but he kind of hovered for another minute. It was just a really weird, uncomfortable interaction. Is this a normal thing that happens now? You don't just walk up to someone and start critiquing their form without being asked.
