The most embarrassing thing just happened at my own birthday dinner.
By @owenforsure · Social
My girlfriend's sister, who I barely know, insisted on giving a toast. She ended up telling a story about my girlfriend's ex-boyfriend and how great he was, in front of my whole family.
The full story
So it's my birthday dinner, my parents are there, my girlfriend's parents are there, it's a whole thing. My gf's sister, who is... a character, stands up to give a toast. I'm thinking, 'oh no.' She starts out nice, but then she starts telling this long, winding story about a vacation my girlfriend took with her ex. She kept saying his name and talking about how 'adventurous' and 'charming' he was. My girlfriend was bright red and kicking her under the table, but she just wouldn't stop. It ended with her raising a glass to 'great memories.'

@luke — The sister is trying to triangulate you and it's working.
@danakindof — You never let anyone disrespect you in front of your parents.
@sashaactually — I feel like we're not hearing the whole story about your relationship with the sister.
@coffeefirst — soft.
@tesslately — I'd make it my life's mission to give a toast at her wedding and just tell a story about my favorite movie.
