My wife uses our library card like it's a credit card with no limit.
By @nicoliterally · Family
She checks out 20-30 books at a time and they just sit in piles. I get the 'your items are due' emails and it drives me crazy.
The full story
The library is supposed to be free. But when she uses it, it feels expensive for my sanity. She goes and comes back with a mountain of books. Cookbooks, novels, biographies, you name it. They sit on the nightstand, the coffee table, the floor. She reads maybe two of them before the due date hits and then it's a mad dash to find them all before we get fined. I'm the one who gets the notification emails, so my inbox is just a constant reminder of the ticking clock. It's not about the money, it's the principle. Just take what you can actually read.
