My roommate's boyfriend basically lives here rent-free.
By @guskay · Money
He's here at least 5-6 nights a week, uses our wifi, eats our food, and doesn't pay for a thing. My roommate says since his name isn't on the lease, I can't say anything about it.
The full story
ok so i need to know if i'm crazy. my roommate (21f) and i (22f) have lived together for a year, everything's been fine. her bf (23m) is nice enough but he is ALWAYS here. like, he goes to his own apartment maybe once or twice a week to get clothes. he uses our shower, our internet, he eats the snacks we both buy, and he's always on our couch. our utility bills have definitely gone up. i brought this up to my roommate, and suggested maybe he could start chipping in like $50 a month for utilities, or at least buy his own groceries. she got super defensive and said i'm being weird and that he's a guest. but a guest doesn't have a toothbrush in your bathroom for 8 months straight?? she said that since her name is on the lease she can have whoever she wants over. i said i get that, but when her 'guest' is basically a third roommate who doesn't pay rent, it becomes my business too. it's just getting annoying. he isn't a bad guy but i didn't sign up to have a third roommate. am i overreacting or is she being unfair?

What people are saying
@edieok2 — Time to start eating all his food and using all his stuff when he's not looking.
@piaee — wow a 'guest' with a toothbrush. groundbreaking stuff.
@gabetbh — Your roommate is completely avoiding the confrontation with her boyfriend and making you the bad guy instead.
@yaraactually — just get a new bf and have him move in too its only fair
@nia — This happened to my sister and she started walking around in just a towel whenever the boyfriend was there. He stopped coming over so much.
