My roommate keeps 'borrowing' my expensive shampoo and conditioner.

By @colekinda · Friends

She has her own stuff but says mine works better for her hair, so she just uses it whenever she wants without asking. I'm a broke college student and this stuff is not cheap.

so my roommate is generally fine, we get along okay, but this one thing is driving me crazy. i have a specific hair type and i have to buy this expensive shampoo and conditioner from a salon. it's like $40 a bottle and i budget for it. she has her own suave or whatever from the grocery store. a few weeks ago i noticed my shampoo was going down way faster than usual. i didn't say anything at first, i thought i was imagining it. but then i put a little mark on the bottle with a sharpie, and yeah, it's definitely not just me using it. i finally confronted her about it and she was just like 'oh yeah, sorry, i just love the way it makes my hair feel!' like it was no big deal. she said she'd stop but the mark on the bottle keeps moving down. i feel like i'm going crazy. i don't want to start a huge fight over shampoo but it's the principle of the thing, and also i literally cannot afford to be buying this for two people. i've started taking it into my room with me after i shower which feels insane. am i overreacting to this? it feels so petty but also so disrespectful.
