This is the fourth time this summer my 'concerned neighbor' has filed a complaint against me. First my grass was a quarter-inch too long, then I had 'aggressive' wind chimes. But this one is my favorite.

I get an official email from the HOA. they says a neighbor complained I was 'wielding grilling implements in a startling manner' and creating 'smoke plumes of a suspicious and celebratory nature.' I was making burgers for my girlfriend and me. I flipped one a little high, maybe, but that was it. This is the same guy who complained our trash cans were visible from the street for 61 minutes post-pickup. I've never even spoken to him. Is this just what happens when you buy a house? You just get assigned a nemesis?
