My sister's wedding is in three months. Her fiancé got laid off last week and now they're short on cash. The final venue payment is due and they're about $8,000 short. My husband came to me yesterday and suggested we take out a personal loan to cover it for them. I immediately said no. We have our own bills and our own debt. He thinks I'm being cold and that family should help family no matter what. I think it's insane to take on debt for someone else's party. It's not a life-or-death emergency. They can have a smaller wedding.
