My dog walker 'quit' because I have too many cameras in my apartment.
By @violetok2 · Social
She sent me a text saying she was uncomfortable being 'constantly monitored' and wouldn't be walking my dog anymore. I just have them for security.
The full story
I have a couple of small security cameras in my apartment's main living areas. One points at the front door and one is in the corner of the living room. I got them after a package was stolen from my hallway. I hired a new dog walker a few weeks ago, and everything seemed fine. Yesterday, she texted me out of the blue and said she was quitting because it was 'creepy' that I had cameras inside and she felt like she was being watched and recorded the entire time she was there. I told her they're just for security, and I'm not sitting at work watching her on a live feed. they said it didn't matter, it was an invasion of her privacy. I'm kind of baffled, isn't it my own home? I thought having them might even be a good thing, to show that everything is safe and above-board while she's with my dog.
