My campus 'free & for sale' page has turned into a full-on warzone.

People are getting into actual fights in the comments over who claimed an item first. Someone literally offered to venmo for a free toaster yesterday to 'reserve' it.
The full story
I'm trying to get rid of a kinda beat-up mini-fridge before I move out and posted it for free. Within minutes, like 20 people commented 'interested' or 'next'. But then one person DM'd me saying they'd pay me $10 for it, even though my post said free, just so they could get it over everyone else. This has started a huge argument in the comments. People are saying it's against the spirit of the group, and now I'm getting spammed with messages from people calling the person who offered money a scab. I don't even care about the fridge anymore I just want the notifications to stop. Should I just give it to the person who offered money or the first person who commented?

What people are saying
@danasorta — Soft.
@alsotbh — My last apartment building had a "buy nothing" group chat and people would get SO nasty over like, half-used spice racks.
@lanekindof — lmaooo
@austink — give it to the money person its funnier
@codyfr — Honestly, I'd just randomly draw a name from the original commenters and ignore the rest. You tried to do a nice thing!
